Water trams from Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot to the Hel Peninsula are running until the end of August. The trams depart several times a day, stopping at the town of Hel and the picturesque vacation resort of Jastarnia. Throughout the water tram season, a free bus takes tourists from the Gdynia Główna train station to the tram port.

A trip from Gdynia to Hel takes an hour and costs zl.12. You can take a bike with you (larger trams can hold up to 50 bikes, smaller ones around 10) and cycle around the peninsula on bicycle trails along the Gulfs of Gdańsk and Puck.

There is also a new tram connection from Gdańsk to Sobieszewo island, which is home to two large bird reserves (Ptasi Raj and Mewia Łacha).
