The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) has opened a one-stop information center for foreign companies interested in obtaining European Union funds to help finance projects in this country.

"Thanks to funds available under the Innovative Economy operational program, Poland can provide investors with the kind of support that no other European country is able to offer," said Deputy Economy Minister Rafał Baniak at a conference marking the launch of the Warsaw information center in June.

According to Baniak, Poland remains an attractive investment destination despite the global economic crisis. "The country's strong economy and its solid foundations for further growth ensure healthy returns on investment," Baniak said. "Poland stands out internationally in terms of GDP growth and financial stability."

Funding available under the Innovative Economy program is intended for major investment projects that are worth more than zl.160 million and are expected to create at least 200 jobs. Investors planning such projects are eligible for up to zl.100 million in EU co-funding. This year over zl.1.3 billion is available for such projects under the program.

According to PAIiIZ head Sławomir Majman, Poland is an excellent partner for foreign businesses looking for a safe investment destination.
