Intec, a global provider of business support systems (BSS) solutions, has announced a significant contract extension with Polkomtel, the operator behind Poland's largest GSM network, Plus, for Phase 2 of its NBS (New Billing System) project. In a multimillion-euro deal, the contract involves the extension of Intec's Convergent Billing solution (Singl.eView) to service Polkomtel's post-paid customer base.

The announcement comes 12 months after Polkomtel went live with Intec's Singl.eView platform for pre-paid subscribers. This deployment will enable Polkomtel to launch new products and services to both pre- and post-paid subscribers.

"Our main goal in Phase 2 is to create one convergent and flexible billing platform based on high technology from Intec for all next-generation services. This will allow Polkomtel to achieve cost synergies as well as economies of scale in respect of quality of these advanced services," said Iwona Golińska (pictured), Intec director for Poland, Central and Eastern Europe. "In a highly competitive Polish market, Intec's technology also enables Polkomtel to sustain their competitive advantage and shape the future landscape of the country's telecoms market," she added.
