Roman Durka, chairman of Fujitsu Technology Solutions in Poland, the largest European provider of IT infrastructure, talks to El¿bieta Wrzecionkowska.

Considerable changes took place within the Fujitsu group April 1. Has the company altered its strategy?
In April 2009, the Fujitsu Siemens Computers company became 100 percent owned by Fujitsu Limited (the Fujitsu group bought shares from Siemens) and was renamed Fujitsu Technology Solutions (Holding) B.V. The newly formed company will work together with Fujitsu Services under the common brand of Fujitsu and have the same management. The two companies will market a range of products, solutions and services to business customers in the EMEA region, that is Europe, Middle East and Africa. The changes seek to integrate Fujitsu Technology Solutions, the largest provider of IT systems in Europe. Besides, Fujitsu Technology Solutions wants to radically change the way it operates. By creating new products, we want to think globally and act locally in order to meet the needs of our customers. The integration of Fujitsu Technology Solutions will allow the Fujitsu group to market a comprehensive range of products and services around the world.

Is Fujitsu planning to invest in Europe? If so, what sort of investment is planned?
Fujitsu and Fujitsu Technology Solutions are planning to join forces to introduce innovative products at competitive prices on markets around the world. With this in mind, a huge research and development center is located in Augsburg, Germany, specialized primarily in IA servers. Over 1,300 engineers and 10,000 employees in the EMEA region will use their expertise in technology to develop products, software and services as part of the global Fujitsu platform.

What will you offer to companies on the Polish market? Who are your target buyers and what products and services do you focus on?
In Poland, we will provide IT infrastructure solutions to companies, public institutions and local government. We will market comprehensive services of the top quality based on our equipment. Still, there is more, because we will also be able to provide our customers with access to global, dynamic infrastructures based on IA servers and linked to innovative services. We will also offer integrated products and IT solutions developed together with Fujitsu Services. This will provide a number of benefits for our customers and business partners, as they will gain global access to this integrated and broad range of products and services. We will adjust global products for companies operating locally, thus carrying out the new strategy of the group-"think globally, act locally."

I should also mention that all our devices have a green IT certificate, which stands for more than energy efficiency, as it means that our technologies help protect the environment. We want to become the leading provider of the best IT infrastructure in Poland. The Fujitsu group perceives Poland as a dynamic market with high potential.
