Healthy Living Can Be Fun
September 2, 2009
Article's tools:

Healthy living is the subject of an innovative, interactive exhibition called Live Healthy! Sports and Spinach at Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science.

The exhibition was created by top scientists and designers for the Experimentarium Science Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Before it came to Poland, it was shown at the Xploorit center in Kolding, Denmark, and the Centre for Life in Newcastle, northeast England. So far, it has been seen by 700,000 people in total.

The interactive installation occupies 600 square meters on the second, sixth and 30th floors of the Palace of Culture and Science. It delivers an innovative insight into the human body, showing the truth about good and bad eating habits that influence our health, physique and mental state. New technology showcased at the exhibition enables visitors to take sports challenges that make their hearts race. Sports and Spinach is an unconventional and fun presentation of how the human body behaves in different conditions, depending on the quality and quantity of food, physical activity and mental state. In a very accessible way, the exhibition identifies what is needed to have a healthy lifestyle. For example, visitors get to learn about blood pressure tests, how muscles are built up and how many nutrients food should contain to provide our bodies with sufficient energy.

Until Sept. 30, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., 2nd, 6th and 30th floors, Palace of Culture and Science, 1 Defilad Sq. Warsaw
