A private language school has launched a Cambridge University-certified exam center for non-native speakers of English in Warsaw.

The school, called Lang LTC, provides Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) examinations popular around the world, including First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).

Until recently, the British Council in Warsaw was the only place where residents of Poland's central Mazovia province could take Cambridge ESOL exams. Now Lang LTC also provides such services, having secured the status of authorized Cambridge ESOL examination center.

"When selecting new centers, we take into account their reputation, stable market position, service quality and business potential," says Arkadiusz Jaworski, marketing manager for Poland University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

Lang LTC says it organizes standard examination sessions and on-demand sessions. Beginning next spring, it will also offer computer-based tests.

The earliest exam session is scheduled for late November and early December, Lang LTC says.

Cambridge ESOL exams are popular with English language students around the world. More than 3 million people from 130 countries take them every year. Cambridge ESOL certificates confirm that their holders have a specific level of fluency in English, which often helps them gain entrance to university or college, and improves their job prospects. For example, Certificates in Advanced English (CAE) are widely recognized by employers and educational establishments. A Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is seen by employers across the world as proof of a high level of language ability, while colleges and universities accept it from non-native speakers wishing to study in English as proof that they have the ability to use the language to a high level. Business Language Certificates (BEC) are recognized by public institutions, ministries and business organizations as proof that the holder can use English in business dealings.

Lang LTC says it offers Cambridge ESOL exams testing general knowledge of English, such as Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE). The center will also hold professional English exams: for businesspeople-Business English Certificate (BEC), for lawyers-International Legal English Certificate (ILEC), financiers-International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE), and teachers-Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT), as well as Young Learners English Tests (YLE) intended for schoolchildren.

Lang LTC is a language school with branches throughout Poland. It is a member of the Polish Association for Standards in Language Education (PASE) and holds an ISO 9001/2000 certificate. It has been around for 18 years and specializes in language courses for corporate and institutional clients, organizing language courses abroad, and providing translation services.
