The president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Max Crofts, attended the annual general meeting and diploma award ceremony of the institution's Polish branch in mid-September.

During his visit, Crofts inspected the National Stadium site in Warsaw accompanied by senior chartered surveyors Chris Grzesik, Jonathan Steer and Iain Leyden.

Crofts said, "The National Sport Stadium will be a dramatic addition to the Warsaw skyline. Construction is proceeding rapidly and in a most impressive way. The best practice from other stadia in Europe being introduced into this project will ensure that this stadium will be the pride of Warsaw and Poland."

Robert Wojta¶, vice president of National Sport Center and the director of the project management division for the National Stadium, hosted the visit. He said, "We are pleased and honored to be able to show the RICS president the progress on this complex project and discuss our methodology for the control and management of the construction to ensure completion in June 2011."
