Panattoni Marks Four Years in Poland
Warehouse developer Panattoni recently summed up its four years on the Polish market. Despite the economic slowdown, the company has managed to retain its position as sector leader. In terms of net lease contracts signed in the first half of 2009 (new transactions only), Panattoni holds 45 percent of the market, having signed new lease contracts for about 108,000 sq m.
In the first quarter of this year, Panattoni leased out a total of 56,257 sq m. The biggest contract was signed with Intermarché-28,500 sq m at Panattoni Park Mysłowice. In the second quarter, Panattoni leased out 50,950 sq m. The finalized contracts include one for build-to-suit (BTS) facilities signed with Torfarm SA. Panattoni will build two warehouses with total space of about 35,000 sq m for this client.
Panattoni Europe started operating in Poland in 2005. To date the company has completed 21 logistics parks around the country, totaling about 1 million sq m. Another 20,000 sq m is under construction and a further 350,000 sq m is at the planning stage.
