Computer giant IBM will open an Integrated Delivery Center in the southwestern city of Wroc³aw to help deliver IT services to its European customers. The company signed a cooperative agreement regarding the project with the Polish government at the end of September.

"We chose to locate our new center in Wroc³aw on account of the large labor market and the availability of high-level technical and linguistic qualifications," says Anna Sieñko, managing director of IBM Poland. "People are the cornerstone of our company's development."

IBM was subsidized to the tune of zl.85 million from the EU and zl.34 million from the Polish government for the project.

The Wroc³aw center is expected to employ around 2,000 people and should be up and running by spring next year. IBM has said that it intends to work closely with local colleges during recruitment.
