Talking PPP
A panel discussion entitled "Promotion of Regions and Public-Private Partnership" was held by the WDA at the TT Warsaw Tour & Travel-International Travel Fair in September. The event was moderated by Alex Kloszewski, WDA president, and Juliusz Kłosowski, The Warsaw Voice general manager. Speakers included Marcin Herra, head of PL 2012; Bartłomiej Walas, vice president of the Polish Tourist Organization; Andrew Kozlowski of CMS Cameron McKenna, an expert on public-private partnership (PPP); and Sławomir Wróblewski, president of Meetings Management. They discussed how best to create synergies between the public and the private sectors in order to market and promote Polish cities, towns and regions and how to implement PPP projects in promoting Poland beyond 2012.


Batida Comes on Board
The Batida restaurant chain joined the WDA in September. Batida has been on the Warsaw food scene for 20 years and now has five restaurants in the capital.

Each restaurant is different. For example, the brasserie on Konstytucji Square, which boasts elegant interiors from the 1950s, serves lavish French and Polish breakfasts, lunches, dinners and suppers. There is also a Batida restaurant at the Europejski Hotel on Krakowskie Przedmie¶cie Street.


Brainstorming on Euro 2012 Opportunities
The WDA, the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce and BBC World organized a seminar to discuss how Poland can be promoted through the Euro 2012 soccer championships. The seminar was held Oct. 7 at the Hyatt Hotel in Warsaw.


WDA Wine Club
The WDA Wine Club is a new WDA initiative with DobreWina stores. WDA members interested in joining the club will receive a WDA Wine Club card allowing them to purchase wines at a 20 percent discount in all DobreWina shops. Additionally, 5 percent of the value of club member's purchases will be donated to the WDA.

DobreWina shops are owned by Grand Cru, a company importing and selling wines from all over the world. The company's motto is "Good wine at a good price." In addition to the store network, the company provides the following services: supply of wine for private and corporate functions and expert advice on the selection of wines to match the occasion; wine-tasting events and wine presentations; gifts for Christmas and other occasions, for clients, VIPs and employees, with an option of engraving a company logo on wooden box packaging.

The company's product selection, including wines and other delicacies as well as wine accessories and packaging, can be seen on www.dobrewina.pl. The website also includes addresses of DobreWina wine shops throughout Poland.


WDA City Fee Collection/Levy
In August, WDA member hotels collected a total amount of zl.31,608 from voluntary levies from hotel guests. So far this year a total of zl.320,262 has been collected.
