Sri Lankan tea producer Dilmah is sponsoring an annual event billed as Poland's Tea Days in October. The event, being held for the third time, began Oct. 1 and will continue throughout the month. It aims to promote tea drinking in this country and highlight the wealth and diversity of tea-related customs, Dilmah says.

This year's Tea Days events will take place at restaurants, cafes and stores across Poland, and the campaign will also cover the print media and the internet. It will comprise a range of events, from cultural ones to educational activities to special offers in stores.

The event is designed to show people "how to overcome the stereotypical notion of tea as an ordinary and uninteresting beverage and see the many flavors, serving techniques and combinations with other dishes," said Piotr Witomski, marketing and development director at Gourmet Foods, a company that imports Dilmah teas to Poland.
