A competition for a souvenir from Poland, organized by the Cepelia Foundation for Polish Arts and Crafts, ends Oct. 31. Offering a main prize of zl.15,000, the competition aims to inspire new and imaginative souvenir designs that promote Poland abroad. The competition is divided into two sections: "Tradition," for souvenirs which draw on the wealth of Polish culture, and "Inspiration," which aims to stimulate ideas reflecting the latest trends in contemporary industrial design.

In November, the best works will be put on display in a post-competition exhibition at the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw and featured in a catalogue published for the event.

For 60 years, Cepelia has worked to preserve and promote traditional Polish art. Its activities include education, competitions, art overviews, fairs and exhibitions of folk arts and crafts. Cepelia operates a chain of stores with traditional products. For more information on the competition go to www.cepelia.pl
