Marking Swedish EU Presidency
October 28, 2009
Article's tools:

Sweden holds the rotating presidency of the EU until the end of this year. Sweden's presidency was celebrated Sept. 26 at the Chojnata Palace, a meticulously renovated 19th-century residence located 60 kilometers from Warsaw.

It was the third such meeting at the Chojnata Palace and like the previous two, it met with a lot of interest from entrepreneurs, local government officials and influential public figures. Organized by the embassy of Sweden in Poland, the county administration in Rawa Mazowiecka and the Chojnata Palace Association, the day was held to foster links between Swedish companies in the Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Polish entrepreneurs affiliated with the ŁódĽ Special Economic Zone, a patron of the event. The event also helped promote Polish-Swedish cooperation on the regional level.

The host of the event was Małgorzata Pieczyńska, a Polish actress who lives in Sweden. Infrastructure Minister Cezary Grabarczyk gave a speech and opened a business seminar.

Guests heard a piano concert by Polish pianist Janusz Olejniczak, a world famous virtuoso known for his masterly interpretations of music by Frederic Chopin. They also heard a recital by international jazz vocalist Urszula Dudziak.
