Slow Food Ethos at Café' Colombia

The Café Colombia can be found at the Kossowski Palace tenement house at 19 Nowy ¦wiat St. The decor is a cross between what you would expect in an old tenement and a South American café.

This is the only café in the country that serves coffee straight from Colombia, a product with no impurities and chemical additives. The café is a place guided by principles and which follows a singular ideal-an emphasis on slow food that puts it squarely at odds with the instant gratification culture of modern society. The café is for life without flavor-enhancing or taste-enhancing additives and wants to prevent natural tastes becoming a thing of the past.

The Café Colombia only uses natural ingredients, fresh eggs and butter, real cream and fresh, seasonal fruits. Delicious sandwiches and sweet pastries are served in addition to coffee, caffeinated beverages, aromatic teas and milky fruit cocktails. The meringue cake, which has two opposing flavors in equal measure, is a prime example-sweetness with a light undertones of bitterness in figs and nuts.
