Marriott International, Inc., owner of Warsaw's Marriott Hotel, has announced plans to open several more hotels in Poland over the next few years.

The corporation is "seriously considering opening more hotels in Poland," said Albert Helms, general manager of the Warsaw Marriott Hotel. "We want to have hotels, Courtyard hotels in particular, in cities such as Cracow, ŁódĽ, Poznań, Gdańsk, Wrocław and Katowice." Warsaw's Marriott Hotel, opened in October 1989, has 518 rooms, including 95 suites, in addition to a fitness center, a sauna, a swimming pool, conference rooms, restaurants and nine bars.

Marriott International Inc. is building a total of 20 hotels across Europe as well as Russia and Kazakhstan. All are scheduled for completion by the end of 2012. Three will be ready by the end of this year. Worldwide, more than 700 new Marriott hotels are scheduled to open by 2014.
