PGE power utility will likely postpone the tender for the provider of technology for its planned nuclear power plant beyond June, as the company is working on the financing model of the nuclear project CEO Krzysztof Kilian told reporters.

The tender was previously scheduled for Q2 of 2012. The cost to build the first reactors is estimated at up to PLN 50 billion.

"Most likely we will have to postpone the announcement of the tender," Kilian said. "I think that there will be a slight delay and the tender will not be announced by end-June."

The delay comes as PGE is still working on the financing model for the project, the CEO said.

US GE Hitachi, Westinghouse and France's Areva are believed to be the most interested in the deal.

PGE was selected as the lead investor for country's first 3-gigawatt nuclear power plant which is expected to be launched by the end of 2023.
