To mark the 65th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, the Kamienica Theater is staging a production entitled A Memoir of the Warsaw Uprising, based on a book by Miron Białoszewski, a Polish poet and fiction writer from the World War II era.

Showing the life of Varsovians during the 1944 insurrection, A Memoir of the Warsaw Uprising is a story of the atrocities of war, the cruelty of history and the suffering of innocent people.

The Kamienica Theater tells the story using contemporary production techniques to deliver an expressive, theatrical vision of those tragic days when thousands of people perished and the city turned into smoking rubble.

Directed by Jerzy Bielunas, the production combines theater, music and dance. The score was written by composer Mateusz Pospieszalski and the choreography is by Maciej Florek, a dancer known from the popular TV show You Can Dance-Po Prostu Tańcz. The production features a cast of young actors.
