Warsaw's Calvinist parish is preparing to host a series of international church organ concerts this year. The concerts will be held on the fourth Sunday of each month, except for July, from Jan. 24 to Dec. 19.

The festival will feature a total of 11 organ players, including five from Germany, four from Poland, one from Austria, and one from Hungary. The performers are winners of international competitions and professors of music academies.

The Calvinist Church organ is one of few original music instruments of this kind in Warsaw. It was built in 1900 by the Schlag und Söhne company in the city of Świdnica. Due to damage caused by World War II, the organ could not be used for many years. In 2004-2008, it underwent thorough renovation at the hands of organ master Olgierd Nowakowski in the southern city of Zabrze, following efforts by the Calvinist parish and the festival's artistic director Michał Markuszewski.

The concerts will be held under the auspices of German ambassador Michael H. Gerdts in association with the German embassy in Warsaw.
