Finnish gothic rock band The 69 Eyes will give a concert at Warsaw's Progresja club Jan. 20.

The band was formed in 1990 by five musicians fascinated with performers such as The Ramones, The Doors and Billy Idol. Initially, The 69 Eyes played glam rock, but they soon started experimenting with somewhat darker genres. Their music is now described as horror rock or goth'n'roll.

The turning point in their career was the Wasting the Dawn album from 1999. One of the collaborators on the album was Ville Valo, the vocalist of the popular Finnish band HIM. The album met with praise from the music world and The 69 Eyes embarked on their first international tour, playing with the likes of Paradise Lost and Within Temptation.

In August last year, The 69 Eyes released their 10th album entitled Back in Blood. Working on the album, the band members teamed up with producer Matt Hyde, who has also worked with Slayer and Monster Magnet.
