Atmospheric Duo
Gaba Kulka and Konrad Kucz are tuning up to perform together at the Fabryka Trzciny arts center Jan. 15. The duo will be promoting Sleepwalk, their first joint album, which came out in October last year.
Kulka is a pianist, vocalist and lyricist who performs music classified as alternative pop. Her inspirations include Kate Bush and Tori Amos. Last year, Kulka released her third solo album, Hat, Rabbit, which went gold in Poland. Kucz, in turn, specializes in electronic music, ambient rock and chill-out and club beats.
On their joint album, Kulka and Kucz take listeners on an atmospheric journey across music conventions, with hints of vaudeville, soundtracks from old movies and Tom Waits-style songs, all spiced up with a pinch of ambient rock.
