New Book on Painter Czapla
The Salon Akademii gallery of the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw Jan. 15 hosted a viewing of a dozen new paintings by Marian Czapla, accompanied by the launch of a coffee table book entitled Marian Czapla-Painting.
Launching the viewing, which was attended by Czapla, Ksawery Piwocki, the president of the Fine Arts Academy, said, "We want the gallery of our academy to show works and promote the creativity of the best artists from Poland and abroad, both established artists and young, promising ones. The gallery is designed to be an open space for various artistic projects and become a landmark on the cultural map of Warsaw."
The Salon Akademii gallery was opened at the end of last year in the Czapskich Palace, the main building of the Fine Arts Academy located at 5 Krakowskie Przedmieście St. in the heart of Warsaw.
Marian Czapla-Painting is the third in a series of Akademia Prezentuje (The Academy Presents) coffee table books which the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw publishes to showcase the work of the best Polish artists. The first two books focused on Zygmunt Magner and Grzegorz Pabel.
Czapla, meanwhile, is a popular artist in Poland and abroad whose works, according to market experts, are worth investing in. The book about him, meticulously compiled by Paweł Osial, reveals the sources of the artist's inspiration. The book, with text in both Polish and English, is available at the Salon Akademii gallery, Czapskich Palace, 5 Krakowskie Przedmieście St., entrance from Traugutta Street. Price zl.87, 128 pages.
