Defying Easy Definition
Swiss musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Vollenweider will play March 14 at the Kongresowa Hall in Warsaw.
A self-taught man, Vollenweider is an unconventional musician. His music defies easy categorization. Some consider it world music, others call it jazz, New Age or even classical music. Works by Vollenweider owe their unique sound to an electroacoustic harp of the composer's own design.
Vollenweider has won Grammy and World Music awards and two of his albums simultaneously topped the Billboard charts. Vollenweider has worked with a number of excellent musicians, including Bobby McFerrin, Luciano Pavarotti and Hans Zimmer.
His current tour is promoting his latest album A I R, released last year.
