Ian Brown in Town

Article's tools:

British singer Ian Brown is coming to Poland to give a concert at the Palladium club Feb. 16.

In 1984, Brown was one of the founders of The Stone Roses, a band regarded as the forerunner of the Britpop genre that paved the way for the likes of Suede, Coldplay, Kasabian, the Stereophonics, The Verve and Oasis. Their eponymous debut album came out in 1989. Two years after their follow-up album, Second Coming from 1994, the group disbanded and Brown has pursued a solo career ever since. His solo albums include Unfinished Monkey Business, Golden Greats, Music of the Spheres, Solarized and The World Is Yours. His latest album, My Way, was released last year. The Warsaw gig is a date on a tour promoting the album.

The support act at the Palladium will be Rachael, a Warsaw-based band who play garage rock with a touch of psychedelic. Their inspirations include Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Queens of the Stone Age and The Stooges.
