The Melody Makers
Swing orchestra The Melody Makers will give a concert March 15 at the Roma Musical Theater in Warsaw. The Melody Makers are a European big band that faithfully recreate the original sound of bands from the 1920s and 1930s. In Warsaw, they will deliver a music show with jazz beats but in the style of the interwar period.
For years, The Melody Makers have been conducted by Ondrej Havelka, a multi-instrumentalist, actor, director and dancer. In the past they have been invited to perform during the Nobel Prize award ceremony and the biggest swing galas across Europe. Since the mid-1990s, they have played at the prestigious ball at the Vienna State Opera, opened the annual International Monetary Fund meeting in Davos and during the summer Olympics opening ceremony in Atlanta in 1996 they introduced the Czech Olympic team. The Melody Makers also played at the wedding of the Prince of Liechtenstein.
They are appearing at the Roma at an invitation from Era Jazzu, a Polish jazz concert organizer.
