Paco de Lucia, one of the world's greatest classic guitarists with 25 albums under his belt, plays the Kongresowa Hall in Warsaw March 22.

De Lucia was born in southern Spain as Francisco Sanchez Gomez. His stage name is a tribute to his mother, Lucía Gomez. De Lucia started learning to play the guitar at the tender age of five, taught by his father Antonio Sanchez, also a great guitarist.

De Lucia made his public debut in 1958, playing on Radio Algeciras. He recorded his first album, Dos Guitarras Flamencas, in 1965. His style evolved from classic flamenco to a highly individual sound enriched with drums, bass and percussion. In 1977, De Lucia started playing concerts with Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Larry Coryell. The collaboration led to three albums, Friday Night in San Francisco (with Di Meola and McLaughlin, 1981), Castro Marín (with Coryell and McLaughlin, 1981) and Passion, Grace and Fire (with McLaughlin and Di Meola, 1983). His most recent album, Cositas Buenas, came out in 2004.
