Gentleman, a popular reggae, dancehall and R&B performer, will appear at Warsaw's Stodoła club April 30.
Gentleman, real name Tilmann Otto, was born in 1975 in Osnabruck, the son of a Lutheran minister. He grew up in Cologne, where he first came in contact with reggae music and was immediately captivated. After a trip to Jamaica, he debuted in 2003 with the album Trodin On, which fast-tracked his career. His next album, Journey to Jah, was a hit not only in Europe but also further afield. Since then, Gentleman has been traveling on long concert tours every year and his compositions "Dem Gone" and "Leave Us Alone" have become reggae and dancehall standards.
Gentleman has been to Poland three times before, in 2002, 2004 and 2007. A year after the Wrocław concert of 2007, which brought an audience of over 6,000 people to the Centenary Hall, he signed a contract with Poland's biggest festival, the Open'er.
