Economy Minister advocates rate cuts

Poland's MPC should lower interest rates as this would be beneficial not only for enterprises, but also for the state budget, Economy Minister and deputy PM Waldemar Pawlak told journalists on Friday.

Local analysts unanimously believe that Polish official interest rates will remain intact in September, but a narrow majority of 12 out of 21 now believes a rate cut will be passed in October, the PAP Polish new agency consensus survey has shown.
