Poland's unemployment rate at the end of the year may exceed 13%, Labor Ministry said on Monday.

"Unemployment rate in June was at 12.4% and was 0.5 pps higher than in June 2011," the ministry wrote in an answer to an MP interpellation. "It means the situation on the labor market remains more difficult than a year ago and, assuming the currently observed trends in unemployment rate will hold, the unemployment rate may exceed 13% at the end of the year."

Unemployment rate in July declined to 12.3% from 12.4% in June, latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) show.
