Hal-Cash, a new service that allows bank clients to withdraw money from an ATM using a mobile phone and without the need to use a card, is already available in Poland. The system enables clients to send money from a bank account or from independent agents to ATMs across the world in real time by means of a mobile phone.

The money may also be sent to an ATM from the Hal-Cash website from any place in the world using a payment card.

“The system, developed by eight Spanish banks, Bancaja, Banesto, Banco Popular, Bankinter, Caixa Galicia, Caja Laboral, Cajamar, and Cajasol, sets new standards for domestic and international money transfers,” says Robert Rajewski, president and one of the founders of Hal-Cash Central Eastern Europe.

Hal-Cash may also be helpful in an emergency because it allows one to send money to be withdrawn from an ATM by a person in the same country or abroad. The sender may make the money transfer via a bank branch, bank service office or the internet.

Hal-Cash is available on many markets in Western Europe and North and South America. In Poland, the service is available from more than 1,400 ATMs operated by the Euronet company. Talks are under way with banks that have more than 5,000 ATMs in Poland. The Hal-Cash service will soon be available from more than half of all ATMs installed in the country.

According to experts, the mobile phone may soon become a better and faster money-transfer tool than any conventional method.
