Road authority to start paying off subcontractors’ arrears

Poland's GDDKiA road authority will Sept. 18 start paying off arrears owed to subcontractors who have failed to receive payment from general contractors for road contracts, according to the Rzeczpospolita daily.

The move was enabled by a recently passed law aimed at protecting troubled subcontractors. So far the GDDKiA has received applications to pay off PLN 125.6 million in such arrears, according to Rzeczpospolita.
