Coheed and Cambria

U.S. band Coheed and Cambria will be performing their unique blend of prog, punk, metal and post-hardcore at the Stodoła Club on July 5.

The band has been around since 1995, although it was not until 1999 that they released their first demo and EP. Coheed and Cambria’s subsequent EPs were all concept albums woven around a common theme that together created the 5-album sci-fi saga The Amory Wars. The saga tells of the Kilgannon family, which consists of Coheed and Cambria and their son Claudio, and their life on a planetary system known as Heaven’s Fence. This story convinced the band, originally known as Shabutie, to change their name to Coheed and Cambria.

Their first LP recording, The Second Stage Turbine Blade, came out in 2002 and their next, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, which appeared a year later, was sufficiently successful for Columbia Records to sign them up.

Coheed and Cambria launched their current tour to promote their fifth album, Year of the Black Rainbow, which came out in April this year.
