PGNiG wants to extend its storage capacity

Natural gas giant PGNiG decided to extend its two underground gas depots in Husow and Brzeznica in south-eastern Poland , the daily Parkiet reports, citing company officials.

The Husow depot will be extended to 500 million cubic meters from 350 million cubic meters, with the construction works to be conducted by PGNiG's subsidiary PGNiG Technologie, deputy CEO Slawomir Hinc said.

PGNiG will announce a tender for the extension of the second depot, Hinc said.

PGNiG currently has 1.83 bcm of gas storage capacity and wants to increase the figure to 3 bcm by the year 2015, the daily wrote.
