Polish banks may see their financial results worsen in H2 from H1 level with the net result in the entire 2012 seen edging down 3% y/y and falling 6% in 2013, analysts say.

The banks will likely suffer a negative impact of the expected interest rate cut on their interest result, while they will find it difficult to improve the result on fees and commissions, DM Citi Handlowy analyst Andrzej Powierza said.

The economic slowdown will definitely affect the results and the problems of the construction sector are included in the provisions only to a small extent, in Powierza's opinion.
