Polish banks raise interest rates on new zloty loans in August

Polish banks increased interest on new loans in August compared to July levels with the growth visible mainly in consumer loans, while interest on corporate loans was down month on month, data from the National Bank of Poland showed.

Consumer loans went up by 0.4 ppt m/m, with effective rates up 0.6 ppt.

Housing loan rates edged down by 0.1 ppt m/m.

Average rates on corporate loans were down by 0.2 ppt m/m to 6.7%.
