Poland might increase the amount to be spent annually on the modernization of the navy above the PLN 900 million mark, the daily Rzeczpospolita wrote citing deputy Defense Minister Waldemar Skrzypczak.

The Defense Minister has already approved the construction of one of three mine sweepers, while next year decisions will be taken on ordering three patrol vessels and three coastguard defense vessels, the daily wrote.

The vessels will be built with the participation of Polish shipyards, Skrzypczak said.
