Nu Jazz Bistro Goes Italian
The Nu Jazz Bistro, best known for its fusion cuisine, has reinvented itself. World cuisine has made way for Italian cuisine and the interior has been redesigned. A pizza oven and an open stove and live cooking stand now take pride of place in the middle of the restaurant so that you can watch pizzas, antipasti and salads being made.
The new menu has classic dishes from the various regions of Italy. Pizzas are the main item. These are cooked according to special Italian recipes and on the thinnest bases in town—as the chef is at pains to point out. There are also plenty of freshly made pastas, meat or fresh fish dishes, salads, desserts, and superb Italian wines.
Those dishes most prized by the regular clientele have remained on the menu.
True believers who have been coming here for the fresh salmon tartar with zucchini salad and tarragon and grapefruit chutney side serve, or the campagnole in cream sauce with chanterelles, spinach and crayfish, or for the delicious baked tomato soup served with basil, have not been forsaken.
Sports enthusiasts can continue to spend their free time watching the large screen in the Nu Sport room in the cellar and the live music will remain.
