Top Czech insurer to open branch in Poland
October 5, 2012
Czech insurance company Ceska pojistovna, a unit of Generali PPF Holding, is planning to open its branch in Poland, the daily Puls Biznesu writes citing Generali PPF Holding representative Richard Kapsa.
The opening of a branch of Ceska pojistovna in Poland is a consequence of the acquisition of Proama, the Polish branch of the French insurer Groupama, Kapsa said.
The acquisition of Proama was already announced in July 2012. It will have no consequences for the existing clients, he added.
Ceska pojistovna enjoys the same position in the Czech Republic as the listed insurance group PZU in Poland. The former garnered EUR 1.4 billion in premiums in 2011.
