Red Sparowes Fly In
Red Sparowes, regarded as one of the most important bands on the American post-rock scene, will be appearing at the Hydrozagadka Club in Warsaw on Sept. 27.
Red Sparowes started out as a side project for various members of Isis, Neurosis and Pleasure Forever in 2003. The original idea was simply to play together. There were no thoughts of touring, recording or anything else that might involve contractual obligations. Something must have changed because a demo with the tracks “Freeway,” “Vanished” and “Untitled” appeared in 2004 and the band’s debut album At the Soundless Dawn came out a year later.
In Poland, the group will be promoting their latest album The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies the Answer. The new material goes for a harder sound and betrays metal influences. The album was produced by Toshi Kasai, best known for his work with the Melvins and Tool.
