Leier is one of Europe’s largest producers of building materials. The history of the company dates back to 1970 when Michael Leier launched a plant to manufacture building materials in the town of Horitschon, Austria. At present, the international Leier group has manufacturing sites in six European countries: Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Croatia.

Leier has been present in Poland since 1988, when the company launched one of the most modern plants for the production of building materials made of concrete and lightweight concrete in the northern city of Malbork. In 2000, after buying a brickyard in Wola Rzędzińska near the southern city of Tarnów from the Treasury, Leier launched the largest plant manufacturing ceramic building materials in Poland at the site. In April 2010 the company bought a brickyard in the village of Markowicze from the Treasury.

Apart from manufacturing sites, Leier is also developing its distribution chain in Poland, with a 2.17-hectare distribution center opened in Olsztynek-¦więtajny in 1990 and a 1.4-hectare center opened in ¦wiecie in November 1991. The company also has distribution centers in Wieliczka, Strzelce Opolskie and Zakroczym near Warsaw. The latter, launched in 2006, is Leier’s distribution center for Mazovia province.

Product line
Leier offers a wide range of building products, including prefabricated walls, Thermopor wall systems made of porous ceramic materials, Monolit Plus hollow brick units made of lightweight expanded clay aggregate filled with lime-bound granulated foamed polystyrene, chimney systems – insulated Leier and Leier Turbo – which are particularly popular with consumers, beam and block floorings and Leier Strong reinforced concrete floorings, roller shutter lintels, and lintels integrated with Leier Strong pre-pressed beams. The product line is complemented by paving slabs, pavers and plant pots.

Supervision and quality
Leier’s continuous quality control system coupled with the certificates the company holds, its cooperation with external research laboratories, including the laboratories of the Polish Center for Testing and Certification (PCBC) in Gdańsk and the Gdańsk University of Technology, constant supervision from TSUS Slovakia and ICiMB Oddział Betonów CEBET Warszawa ensure the highest product quality and reliability and enable the company to label its products with the CE mark.

Awards
The numerous awards granted to the company over the years prove that Leier’s products are competitive and of high quality. The awards include the Gryf-Bud 2004 for chimney systems, the Hit Pomorski 2005 award for prefabricated walls in the production category, the European Standards 2007 emblem, and the Quality of the Year 2009 award in the product category for Leier panel flooring slabs.

In recent years Leier has built up its greatest asset – a solid team of specialists that works well together. Thanks to their commitment, Leier is a successful company perceived as a modern and innovative manufacturer of building materials – materials that the represent high European quality, but at the same time are affordable for every buyer.
