Over PLN 500m up for grabs from ZUS for IT projects
October 10, 2012
Polish IT companies will be able to compete for more than PLN 500 million as Poland's social insurance board (ZUS) plans to announce two tenders for the maintenance and development of its IT system, the daily Puls Biznesu reports.
This way ZUS wants to weaken the monopolistic position of its up-to-date sole IT services supplier – Asseco Poland as well as reduce costs regarding network maintenance.
For the first time, ZUS will choose through a public tender suppliers who will take care of maintenance and development of KSI – a gigantic system, created for PLN 3 billion by Prokom Software and taken over by Asseco.
“With a three year contract, the value of both orders could exceed PLN 500 million,” Dariusz ¦piewak, vice president of ZUS responsible for IT affairs said.
