Statement by Tomasz Nawrocki, PhD, president of the Agricultural Property Agency:

The events of recent months have confirmed that Poland is a country friendly to investors from across the world. After a period of economic slowdown, the Polish economy is now growing at an increasingly fast rate, drawing the attention of domestic and foreign businesses that want to make major investments in Poland. The profitability of investment projects is guaranteed because the Polish economy has strong fundamentals and good prospects for further growth. And Poland’s favorable location in the center of Europe means the country is a perfect place for projects targeting consumers in both Western and Eastern Europe.

To help you find attractive land for investment projects in Poland, I would like to briefly describe what the Agricultural Property Agency can offer investors. Apart from agricultural land, the Agency has attractive land for development. In 2009 alone, the Agency sold several hundred plots to Polish and foreign buyers, and dozens of investors are already launching their business projects on such sites.

We have sites designated for greenfield projects, technology and industrial parks, logistics, shopping and business centers, and modern housing estates. This unique range sets the Agency apart from its competitors. Among investors who have already carried out projects on sites offered by the Agency, reaping significant business benefits, are General Motors, Opel, Sharp, LG, Toyota, Michelin, Electrolux, Isuzu, Viessmann, Lidl, Auchan and Ikea.

Prospective investors should also be encouraged by the excellent location of our properties, their clear legal status and transparent purchase procedures. We have properties throughout Poland, including areas in large cities and industrial centers, for example Warsaw, Wroc³aw, Poznañ, Opole, Katowice and Szczecin. The 50-hectare site (pictured) close to the Baltic Sea in the seaside resort of Ustronie Morskie, West Pomerania province, is an example of the attractive locations we offer. The site is designated for a golf course, hotel with infrastructure and a horse-riding center.

In 2009, the Agency signed an agreement with the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency to develop a national register of industrial properties. The register comprises large sites of more than 50 hectares offered for sale throughout Poland and designated for industrial projects. The register gives prospective investors faster access to the most attractive properties. So far, the Agency has entered 89 properties covering a total of 7,700 hectares on the register.

The Agency also sells historic country houses and palaces with a clear legal status and access to all utilities. Many of these buildings have an attractive location, either close to cities and with good access roads, or near railway stations or airports. The buildings’ unique historical value, original architecture and special atmosphere make them an ideal choice for investors who want to convert them into an exclusive small hotel, a training and conference center far from the madding crowd or a spa center.

In order to encourage you to buy such historic buildings, the Agency offers a 50-percent discount on the auction price. You will be able to spend the money saved on renovating the property.

State-owned properties are generally sold in a public auction. Up-to-date information on auctions to be held by the Agency is available from the Agency’s website (www.anr.gov.pl). The website also provides information about the Agency and a list of all properties offered for sale. Additionally, the most attractive properties are presented on the tabelaofert.pl/anr website. This contains information on the property’s size, price and designation as well as maps and detailed data that make it easier to reach the right decision.

I believe that the Agency’s properties, about which you can learn more at the Expo Real 2010 fair in Munich, will prove of interest to you and I hope that we will soon be able to meet in Poland to finalize further successful projects to be carried out on our sites.
