Warsaw Film Festival
October 1, 2010
Article's tools:

The 16th Warsaw Film Festival will run from Oct. 8 to 17. Last year, the Warsaw Film Festival was rated an international competitive film festival by the Paris-based International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF) and now ranks alongside the festivals of Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno and San Sebastian.

The festival will once more be accompanied by the 6th CentEast Film Market. CentEast is a meeting place for people in the industry and aims to promote films from Poland and Eastern Europe.

The festival will see the premiere of Marcin Wrona’s Chrzest (The Christening) on Oct. 11 and Janusz Mrozowski’s Bad Girls. Cela 77 will be shown in the documentaries section. The short film competition will feature It’s All in the Fingers by Japanese director Kei Ishikawa, Kuba Czekaj’s Twist & Blood, and Igor Chojna’s Plama (The Stain).

More information is available on the festival website at www.wff.pl. The mayor of Warsaw and Poland’s culture minister are honorary patrons of the festival.
