Joe Bonamassa, acknowledged as one of the world’s best guitarists, is bringing his blues guitar and gritty vocals to Warsaw’s Palladium Club Oct. 25.

Bonamassa was born in Utica, New York, in 1977. His father, Len, ran a guitar store and played guitar himself. But his musical roots stretched back further, with both his grandfather and great-grandfather playing the trumpet. Bonamassa started learning the guitar when he was just four years old and could play Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix songs before he was seven. When he was 12, blues legend B. B. King heard him play and said, “This kid’s potential is unbelievable. He hasn’t even begun to scratch the surface. He’s one of a kind.”

Two years later, Bonamassa founded the band Bloodline with Berry Oakley Junior, son of Allman Brothers Band bassist Berry Oakley. Other members included Erin Davis, son of jazz great Miles Davis, and Waylon Krieger, son of Doors guitarist and songwriter Robby Krieger. The band only recorded one album but that was enough to launch Joe Bonamassa.

His first solo album, A New Day Yesterday, came out in 2000 and his most recent offering, Black Rock, came out in March this year.
