Get Set for German Punk

German punk outfit Die Toten Hosen will be playing the Stodoła Club Oct. 8.

Die Toten Hosen was formed in Düsseldorf in 1982 by vocalist Andreas “Campino” Frege, bassist Andreas “Andi” Meurer and guitarist Andreas “Kuddel” van Holst—all former members of Zentral Komitet. Percussionist Trini Trimpop and guitarists Walter November and Michael Breitkopf completed the lineup.

Die Toten Hosen’s first album Opel-Gang (1983) opened up regular gigging that started to attract an enthusiastic following. Commercial success came with the release of their second album, Unter falscher Flagge (1984). The promotional concert tour was sold out and Die Toten Hosen pushed their way to center stage on the German punk-rock scene.

Subsequent recordings have strengthened the band’s hold on Germany and made them one of the most popular German acts abroad. Die Toten Hosen have been billed with the likes of AC/DC, Iggy Pop and the Ramones.
