Botti is Back
October 1, 2010
Article's tools:

American trumpeter Chris Botti will be appearing at Warsaw’s Kongresowa Hall Oct. 14. Botti, who plays in the smooth jazz idiom and imbues jazz standards with pop/rock sensibilities, has recorded and performed with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Sting, Joni Mitchell, Andrea Bocelli and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. This will be Botti’s sixth trip to Poland.

Botti began learning the trumpet at the age of 10 and cites Miles Davis and Tomasz Stańko as inspirations. His career began in earnest in 1990 when was invited to join Paul Simon’s band and spent the next five years there.

Botti’s first solo album, First Wish, came out in 1995 and was a hit with jazz and pop fans alike. He now has 12 solo albums to his credit. Here, we might mention To Love Again (2000), which has contributions by Michael Bublé, Jill Scott, Sting and Paula Cole, and the critically acclaimed When I Fall In Love (2004), which made him the top-selling instrumental artist in the United States.
