Article's tools:

A commemoration ceremony marking nine years since the 9/11 attacks in New York was held on the courtyard of the U.S. embassy in Warsaw Sept. 10. Speaking in front of a huge American flag with the names of all emergency services workers who were killed in New York Sept. 11, 2001, the U.S. ambassador to Poland, Lee Feinstein, said the ceremony commemorated those who were killed nine years ago. Another aim was to thank those overseeing the safety of people around the world, Feinstein said.

After the speech, girls from the Bednarska School of Music in Warsaw sang Nim ¶wit obudzi noc, Panie przyjdĽ, the Polish version of the Christian hymn Amazing Grace, and embassy employees lit candles. The ceremony ended with the lowering of the flag by members of the Marine Security Guard Detachment and a moment of silence.
