Poland wants to sell 18-20bn worth stakes in state companies - report
October 18, 2012
Polish Treasury estimates the value of listed state-controlled companies at around PLN 100 billion, with the portfolio of stakes to be sold at PLN 18-20 billion, deputy Treasury Minister Pawel Tamborski told radio broadcaster PIN.
"The value of the State Treasury firms listed on the stock exchange amounts to day to some PLN 100 billion," Tamborski said. "Given the limitations of governmental strategies for different sectors, such as the energy sector, the portfolio for sale amounts to some PLN 18-20 billion. Such an amount, PLN 18-20 billion, is available to us without changing the governmental strategies."
Poland plans PLN 5 bln in privatization receipts in 2013.
