A weakening of key economic indicators in September confirms an ongoing slowdown in the Polish economy, the deputy chief of Poland’s statistical office, Halina Dmochowska, said Tuesday.

"September data is much worse than seen before and confirms an economic slowdown in Q3," Dmochowska said.

Macro data released Tuesday showed that retail sales growth (restricted to larger retailers) slowed to 3.1% annually, wholesale trade fell 44.7% year on year and new industrial orders were down 13.0%. Registered unemployment held flat at 12.4%.
