Focus Mall in Bydgoszcz, Galeria Niwa in Oświęcim, Galaxy in Szczecin, Wzorcownia in Włocławek, Bonarka in Cracow and M1 shopping malls are the winners of the first PRCH Retail Awards.

The winners were announced during a gala ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw Oct. 13. The competition included developers, administrators and tenants of shopping malls. The PRCH (Polish Council of Shopping Centers) modeled the event after a long-standing competition organized by the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The three main award categories were the Shopping Center of the Year, Marketing and Concept of the Year. The first two categories were divided into three subcategories, for large and very large centers (over 40,000 sq m of gross leasable area, GLA), medium-sized (20,000-39,999 sq m of GLA) and small centers (5,000-19,999 sq m of GLA).

In the Shopping Center of the Year 2010 category the winner of the large centers section was Galeria Focus Mall in Bydgoszcz, built by Parkridge Retail Development. The award for management and maintenance went to Galaxy shopping mall in Szczecin. The facility was developed by the Echo Investment company and is administered by Est-On Property Management.

In the small center subcategory, the title of Shopping Center of the Year went to Galeria Niwa in Oświęcim, built by MMGM Development.

In the Marketing 2010 category, three awards were handed out. Wzorcownia in Włocławek (owned and managed by Budizol Property) was praised for its grand opening. M1 centers in nine locations (owned and managed by Metro Group Asset Management) received an award for their sales campaign. Bonarka in Cracow (owned by TriGranit Development, managed by Bonarka Management Sp. z o.o.) won an award for its public awareness campaign.

The winners were selected by a panel of 11 experts on shopping centers.
