Polish banks post PLN 3.97bn net profit in Q3 2012 - NBP

Polish banks earned PLN 3.97 billion in net profits in Q3 2012 period, down by 5.0% year on year, with the September net result seen at PLN 1.19 billion, down by 15.9%, data published on central bank NBP's website showed.

Net interest income rose by 2.6% year on year in Q3, and by 10.2% in September alone. Fee income was up by 6.8% y/y in September, to put the Q3 growth at 2.1%.

Loan loss provisions came to PLN 876 million in September, up 114.7% y/y. In full Q3, provisions of PLN 2.05 billion were up by 20.0%.
